A Quick Trip report from Papamoa

Written by Tim Taylor on January 25th, 2014.      0 comments

Headed out from Karewa Parade at 7am with customers and we got a good mix of snapper, big kahawai and blue cod. While the KY's were caught randomly, we also had a shoal pass by which has been rare lately, so hopefully that's a good sign. One of my customers also lost a big trevally estimated was such a horse I thought it was a kingi as it was coming up, so pretty gutted to loose it.

Location: 20-21m straight out towards Motiti Rd, small patches of foul if you can find them.
Baits: pilchard cubes
Tackle: flasher rigs.
GPS Spot: S 37° 42.009, E 176° 21.394

What our customers say

quote Now I've stopped running I wanted to drop you a line to say a massive thank you for your incredible guiding services to get us across the Cook Strait. You put faith in us, with a lot of unknowns, and it was so cool how we pulled it off. It adds such a special twist to what I've achieved, and I think it will be very difficult to re-create.
It's been a very special adventure and we're so grateful for your contribution towards it.
Best wishes,
Jez Bragg.
North Face ultra-marathon runner.
