Trip Report and Safety Warning...

Written by Tim Taylor on November 12th, 2013.      0 comments

Hey team, I've just got in from a fishing trip and things didn't go quite to plan so I thought it would be beneficial to share with you a few insights.

So the situation was that todays forecasts were very inaccurate; 2 different website promised 5-7kn but it was actually more like 10-15. Heading out, I recognised the situation and stopped us about 500m from shore and chose to fish in shallow. Over the next half an hour it grew steadily so I made the call to head back in. It was an absolute slog but we made it safely.

The lessons were simple...
1. Always paddle within your experience and fitness levels.
2. Read the conditions and don't rely solely on forecasts.
3. You can always fish another day, if in doubt get out!

Stay safe out there everyone

What our customers say

quote Now I've stopped running I wanted to drop you a line to say a massive thank you for your incredible guiding services to get us across the Cook Strait. You put faith in us, with a lot of unknowns, and it was so cool how we pulled it off. It adds such a special twist to what I've achieved, and I think it will be very difficult to re-create.

It's been a very special adventure and we're so grateful for your contribution towards it.

Best wishes,

Jez Bragg.
